Welcome to Speas!!!

Welcome to Speas! Our class has really taken off! We are so excited about learning new things and meeting new firends! Now that we have been in school for a little while, the kids are doing a great job of remembering our expectations and following routines. Keep it up, Busy Bees!

It is almost the end of kindergarten!!! Our kids told us what they think is the best thing about being in Kindergarten.

Ever wonder how many different types of bugs there are???? We are going to try to find out in our class! We will study bugs of all shapes and sizes...how they live, what they eat, and whether or not they are pests! What bug BUGS you the most?

Would you want to live in the desert? We learned that many creatures do, even though it is very hot and dry there. What desert animal would you want to be and why?

We are studying ecosystems now! Ponds are a great place to start! Our school has a pond in the courtyard with lots of different types of insects and birds who visit the pond each day. If you could be a pond visitor, what kind if creature would you be and why? (Photo courtesy of freefoto.com.)

We love fairy tales in Mrs. Larson's class! They are so much fun to read, and we get to be actors and actresses as we retell them! What is your favorite fairy tale? Why do you like it so much?

The Cat in the Hat is WHERE?

We read Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat and The Cat in the Hat Comes Back. He sure could make a big mess! What would you do if the Cat in the Hat came to your house?

Who's In Charge?

The President is a hero and a very important person in our country! What if YOU became the President? What would be the first thing you would do?

WHO IS YOUR HERO?

In February, our class will learn about heroes of all kinds! Superheroes, community helper heroes and even everyday heroes....What do they all have in common? They all help others and do great things, no matter how small! Who is your hero and why?
