Super Snowpeople!

We hope everyone enjoyed the snow before the break as much as we did! We played in it, and so did lots of other people, it seems. Check out our video of some new "people" in the neighborhood! What did you do in the snow?

Can you believe the holidays are finally here? Our class has been studying holidays around the world that use light or candles as part of the celebration! We have visited Sweden for Luciadagen, Mexico for Las Posadas and Germany for Christmas. We have also learned about Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. How do you celebrate with candles?

APPPLES, APPLES,APPLES

Does anyone out there like apples? We sure do! This is a great time of year to find delicious apples. Our class is studying apples right now. We are going to read about how and apple grows and taste lots of things made from apples to decide which ones we like best. What is your favorite apple dish?

A GOOD START!

Well, our year is off to a good start! We have lots of great things happening in our class. Our kids have done lots of graphing and we have learned that we love chicken and apples to eat and soda to drink. (We are going to have to kick that soda habit!)

Right now, we are learning about community helpers. We have met our principal and our assistant principal, our cafeteria manager, and our custodians. The kids love to wave at all of them now in the halls, because we know who they are! One of the books we have read to go along with this study is The Pigeon Finds A Hot Dog by Mo Willems. We read this one when we met our cafeteria manager. It just happened to be hot dog day for lunch! If you have never read one of the Pigeon books, you should give them a try. We were rolling in the floor and laughing so hard!

To our friends in Bolton's Media Center classes: Let us know what you think of one of the Pigeon books if you get a chance. We would like to know if you think they are as funny as we do! Look below to take part in our poll!
