WOW! We have had so much snow and ice already! We will have some days to make up for sure. The kids in our class are excited about the weather and about our latest science project. We are going to see if the size of a dried bean dictates how much water it will absorb. We will test 4 different types of beans using the same amount of water for each and allowing them to soak for 24 hours. We will let you know what happens!

Welcome to Speas!!!

Welcome to Speas! Our class has really taken off! We are so excited about learning new things and meeting new firends! Now that we have been in school for a little while, the kids are doing a great job of remembering our expectations and following routines. Keep it up, Busy Bees!

It is almost the end of kindergarten!!! Our kids told us what they think is the best thing about being in Kindergarten.

Ever wonder how many different types of bugs there are???? We are going to try to find out in our class! We will study bugs of all shapes and sizes...how they live, what they eat, and whether or not they are pests! What bug BUGS you the most?

Would you want to live in the desert? We learned that many creatures do, even though it is very hot and dry there. What desert animal would you want to be and why?

We are studying ecosystems now! Ponds are a great place to start! Our school has a pond in the courtyard with lots of different types of insects and birds who visit the pond each day. If you could be a pond visitor, what kind if creature would you be and why? (Photo courtesy of freefoto.com.)
